Coming from the deep south east of Poland, where non was truly real, and stories of spirits roaming free were told, a different shape of sight developed.

Rafael Zelek is a photographer and director based in Paris.

His work explores the dissociated connection of a seemingly alienated society, fuelled by decay - finding beauty in the liminal, the theatrical, the half-lit, hidden in obscurity. His images exist between fashion editorial and cinematic narrative, drawn to shadow as a character rather than an absence.
